First-YearAdvising&RetentionCenter
The First-Year Advising & Retention Center (FYARC) is designed to help
students adjust to college life and provide academic advising and support to all
first-time, first-year students. The center houses the first-year experienceand the
learning communities program to improve theacademic success and retention of
all first-year students and to introduce students to the social and cultural
community at ClaytonStateUniversity. Tomake certain students aremeeting the
academic demandsof their first year in college, advisors remain in close
contact with students andmonitor their progress. Advisors also refer students to
campus resources as needed throughout the year. The center is located in the
Natural andBehavioral Sciences (NBS) Building.
