Forgotten Voices: Music of Sorrow and Hope
By Michael Fuchs
“Where words fail, music speaks.”
- Hans Christian Anderson.
In our increasingly divided society,
the importance of finding and acknowledging our common humanity has never been greater. There is
a need for art that promotes our common humanity, challenges our preconceptions, and encourages
the often uncomfortable process of intellectual and moral growth. To
this end, the Clayton State University Chorale will perform a concert titled Forgotten Voices: Music of Sorrow and Hope on Sunday, April 30 at 3:00 PM in Spivey Hall on the campus of Clayton State University. The concert will include “Die mit Tränen säen” (Those who sow with tears) by Heinrich Schütz as well as two African-American spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan:

More great stories inside!
By Brian Amsden
Thanks to the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, students at Clayton State University now have an opportunity to gain experience in one the fastest growing new media art forms—podcasting. Farewell, and continued success to
Dr. Susan Tusing
As we continue to grow as a department, it often comes with sadness when we bid farewell to members of our family. This semester, we bid farewell to Susan Tusing, our Department Chair. We wish Dr. Tusing continued success as she takes up a new position at Marshall University in West Virginia. Our loss is their gain.
