NORMAN GRIZZELL (A.A. Art ‘87)
Grizzell, of Jonesboro, re-

Smith Award at the Clayton
State Faculty/Staff Awards
Ceremony earlier this year.
The Smith Awards are pre-
sented to the faculty mem-
ber and staff member ranked most outstanding as determined by committees of their peers. Grizzell has worked at Clayton State for 12 years and is currently the associ- ate director of Auxiliary Services.

TONY KIMBRELL
(B.M. Music Composition ‘93)
Kimbrell was recently
named the vice president
of Development for the
Make-A-Wish Foundation
of Georgia and Alabama.
He has held senior posi-
tions at Atlanta Ballet, The
National Faculty, and the Woodruff Arts Cen- ter. Kimbrell is a former member of the Clay- ton State Alumni Association Board of Directors.

DAVE MARLER
(B.B.A. Management ‘94)
Marler, of LaGrange, GA,
was recently named the
executive director of the
LaGrange Symphony Or-
chestra (LSO). An Atlanta
native, Marler has served
six years on the LSO
board, including the last
year as board president. Before accepting this position, he served as the chief transformation agent for Marlermedia, a marketing commu- nications firm in LaGrange. He and his wife, Marie, have two adult daughters and one granddaughter. Marler is a former member of the Clayton State Alumni Association Board of Directors.
TAMI L. PETTY
(B.A. Music Performance ‘94)
Earlier this year, Petty, of
New York, was a featured performer in the inaugural
Lotte Lehman Foundation
Recitals. Petty, a soprano,
was also the inaugural re-
cipient of the 2010 Sorel Organization Emerging Artist Award.

Annual Dinner earlier this year. Hamilton and her husband, Joe, own Lake Spivey Golf Club and are long-time supporters of the University and the Southern Crescent community. She is a former trustee of the Clayton State Founda- tion.

JUDGE STEVE TESKE (A.A. Political Science ‘81)
Christopher, of Hampton,
GA, was named the 2010
Member of the Year for
the Atlanta Chapter of the
International Facilities
Management Association
(IFMA). Christopher is the
region manager for Royal Cup Coffee and a former member of the Clayton State Alumni Association Board of Directors.

JACKIE DORST
(A.S.D.H. Dental Hygiene ‘79)
Dorst, of Fernandina
Beach, FL, was named the
2011 Clayton State College
of Health Alumnus of the
Year at the Clayton State
Alumni Association Annual
Dinner earlier this year.
Dorst is an international speaker, author and consultant on infection prevention, OSHA safety and instrument sterilization. She has more than 20 years of experience in the dental profession, business, public speaking and research.
SHERRY HAMILTON (A.A. Education ‘79)
Hamilton, of Jonesboro, GA, was named the 2011 Clayton State Alumnus of the Year at the Clayton State Alumni Association
Judge Teske was nomi-
nated earlier this year for
the statewide University
System of Georgia Re-
gents Award for Excellence
in Education. He has been
a juvenile judge in Clayton
County for more than 20 years and has been recognized with numerous honors and awards for his work in the Southern Crescent.

Corley is CEO of Chris Corley & Associates, where he specializes as a sales and perform- ance coach to the homebuilding, residential development and real estate industries. He and his wife, Cynthia, live in McDonough, GA

LANELLE LARUE (A.A. Business Administration ‘85)
LaRue, of Lake City, GA,
will serve as vice president
of the Clayton State Alumni
Association Board of Direc-
tors for 2011-2013. She is
a charter member of the
Board of Directors and is retired from the At- lanta Airport Marriott.
JACK MILLER (A.A. Math ‘85)
Miller was honored as “Teacher of the Year” at Shorter College, the first time a math pro- fessor has received this award at the school. Miller is an adjunct professor and is the direc- tor of Analytics for IHG. Miller and his wife, Maria, who graduated in 1994 from Clayton State with an A.A.S. degree, have two beau- tiful daughters and live in McDonough.
JONATHAN WALLER
(A.A.S. Mechanical Drafting ‘85)
Waller was named the plant manager of the Timken Company’s New Philadelphia, OH, plant. He joined Timken in 1999 as an engi- neer and most recently served as manager of Continuous Improvement at the Honea Path, S.C., plant.
