I am pleased to present the 2016-2017 annual report for the Division
of Student Affairs. Please join us in celebrating our outstanding accomplishments and service to students highlighted in this report. Our dedicated staff members enact our core values of excellence, integrity, and diversity as they work each day in collaboration with campus partners to promote student success.
This year the Division of Student Affairs has worked collaboratively with Academic Affairs to launch a plan to better understand and analyze student engagement as it relates to academic success, retention and graduation.
As a part of these efforts a direct referral system between advising and career services was established to address student concerns related to majors and careers.
The Division of Student Affairs led a campus-wide effort to develop and implement strategies to address students’ food and housing insecurity. Additionally, the Division has continued to work to elevate assessment through adopting annual common learning outcomes and creating standards for periodic departmental program reviews.
As your review the highlights from the departments in Student Affairs,
I know you will more fully understand and appreciate the impact of the Division’s services and programs for our students and community. Student Affairs’ professionals play an important role in helping students achieve their dreams, develop as individuals and community members, and prepare for their lives after they leave Clayton State University.
The accomplishments highlighted in this annual report demonstrate how our departments and the Division as a whole have made these priorities a reality.
