(from Page 2.) Dr. Lee and his students visited several classes including Audio Recording and Sound Design, Introduction to
Field Production, Cinematography, Post-production, and more. The students said they really enjoyed working with the Clayton State students in the courses. “It was so great to interact with our Korean visitors,” said Professor McDonald. “We had an opportunity to share culture and film, which was invaluable to us as faculty and also our students. I look forward to their next visit!”

“This collaboration is a wonderful chance to expose both the Clayton State and HIT students to one another’s cultures and their respective approaches to mastering the techniques of Film and Broadcasting,” added Professor Harris. HIT offers a two-year Associates degree
to its Broadcasting majors. Several HIT students who have visited CSU on the exchange program say they plan to apply to the B.A. in Film Production program at Clayton State in the near future. Dr. Lee plans to return with his students in January 2018!
Welcome Candace Jones
By now, you must have met Candace Jones, Administrative Assistant who came on board in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts in May 2016. If you haven’t yet met Candace, next time you’re in the Music Education building, be sure to say hello. In the meantime, you might be
loves to spend time with family and friends, reading, laughing, taking care of people, traveling and baking. She’s also adventurous and would like to try skydiving soon.
interested to learn that Candace and her entire family are true blue Atlantans, born and raised right here. With a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Valdosta State University (2005), Candace is no stranger to the University System of Georgia, which is also where she met her husband of three years. Their two sons share the same name, Jalen, who’s 13 and Jailen, who’s 8. “A true coinkydink,” as Candace calls it.
Asked what surprised her most about the VPA department in her first year, Candace replies, “The most pleasant surprise was how caring everyone is. After the sudden passing of my brother in law, so many people reached out to me to let me know they were praying for my family. There aren’t many places that people still care about each other, and that moment made a lasting impression on me.”
A favorite part of being in such a central role in VPA is being able to meet and get to know students and watching them grow through their collegiate experience. “I remember how tough and stressful undergrad can be, and while in school, I had many faculty and staff members who went the extra mile to help us, and I hope to be able to help out when
I can.” When she’s not helping to keep VPA running smoothly, Candace

(from Page 1.) Businesses like General Electric and Tequila Avión have experimented with their own branded podcasts. And Facebook’s “Live Audio” feature—set to be released this year—as well as new social media platforms like SoundCloud will only make podcasts more sharable in the future.
Create Your Own Podcast in CMS 4801
Despite these incredible trends, almost no four year universities offer
a course in podcasting. With the introduction of CMS 4801 Audio Podcasting, Clayton State Lakers have a rare opportunity to develop skills that could place them at the cutting edge of the strongest trend in digital media.
