Dr. Ali Dadpay Appointed MBA Program Director
Dental Hygiene Holds Annual White Coat Ceremony
Dr. Alphonso Ogbuehi, dean of the
College of Business at Clayton State
University, has announced the appoint-
ment of Dr. Ali Dadpay as director of the
University’s MBA program. Dadpay, an
assistant professor
of Economics and
Finance, succeeds
Dr. Judith Ogden,
who will return to
her regular faculty
duties in account-
ing and business
law.
“In this position,
Ali will be respon-
sible for the leader-
ship, strategic planning, management and
growth of the MBA program,” says
Ogbuehi. “Ali’s energy and vision will be
an asset for the program in this highly
competitive MBA market.
“I would also like to use this opportunity
to extend our appreciation to Judith
Ogden for successfully shepherding the
affairs of the MBA program over the last
two years.”
Dadpay earned his Bachelor of Science
from Sharif University of Technology in
Iran in 1997. His master’s degree is from
Virginia Tech (2001) and his Doctor of
Philosophy in Economics was conferred
in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin-
Milwaukee.
Clayton State’s MBA program is for expe-
rienced professionals who are seeking to
move their careers to the next level and
beyond over the course of a 20-month,
fast-track program. Students whose time
is already at a premium in their roles as
executives, benefit from a course struc-
ture that allows for continuous full-time
work outside class. International students
also benefit from a structure that meets
the full-time program of study require-
ment, while allowing maximum time dur-
ing the traditional academic week for
study and preparation. MBA courses meet
primarily every other Saturday for nine
hours, and utilize online components to
increase students’ ability to use technolo-
gy and to help students use their time
most effectively.
The MBA is offered in a lock-step, cohort
format to build stronger relationships
among students so as to increase commu-
nication and the sharing of experiences.
The curriculum is rigorous and is
designed to prepare graduates to operate
successfully in a rapidly changing global
world of business.
Graduates of the Clayton State MBA pro-
gram can also gain insight into one of
three
concentrations:
Accounting,
International Business, or Supply Chain
Management.
The Department of Dental Hygiene at
Clayton State University officially began
the 2012/2013 academic year today with
its Fifth Annual White Coat Ceremony,
held in the University’s Harry S. Downs
Center.
As has traditionally been the case, a high-
light of the ceremony was the senior class
president leading students and faculty in
the recitation of the Dental Hygiene Oath.
Doing the honors for this year for the 54
members of the classes of 2013 and 2014
was Dental Hygiene Senior Class
President Lauren Cotton, a graduate of
Jonesboro High School and a resident of
McDonough, Ga. Cotton’s part in the pro-
gram followed guest speaker Michael
Stearns, account manager for Johnson &
Johnson, and preceded remarks by Kathy
Allen, president of the South Metro
Atlanta Dental Hygienists Society.
Also speaking during the ceremony were
Dental Hygiene Department Chair Dr. W.
Gail Barnes, and the dean of the College
of Health at Clayton State, Dr. Lisa
Eichelberger.
The Dental Hygiene Oath is as follows:
“In my practice as a dental hygienist, I
affirm my personal and professional com-
mitment to improve the oral health of the
public, to advance the art and the science
of Dental Hygiene, and to promote high
standards of quality care. I pledge contin-
ually to improve my professional knowl-
edge and skills, to render of full measure
of service to each patient entrusted in my
care and to uphold the highest standards
of professional competence and personal
conduct in the interests of the Dental
Hygiene profession and the public it
serves.”
The White Coat Ceremony was followed
