Tony Yaacoub Featured on Atlanta
Interfaith Broadcasters’ “One World”
Psychology & Human Services Graduate
Bradley McKibben Accepted into Doctoral Program
Bradley McKibben, a 2009 graduate
of Clayton State University, was
recently accepted into the doctoral
program of Counseling and Counselor
Education at the University of North
Carolina Greensboro.
A native of Griffin, Ga., McKibben
holds a B.S. in Psychology & Human
Services from Clayton State, and
recently earned an M.S. in Community
Counseling from North Georgia College
& State University, where he was also
awarded the Outstanding Graduate
Student in the Community Counseling
Program Award for 2012.
UNC Greensboro has also offered
McKibben a three-year assistantship and
he has been elected president-elect of the
Upsilon Nu Chi chapter of Chi Sigma
Iota, an honor society of professional
counseling. McKibben will begin
work on his doctorate degree in
August 2012. He hopes to earn his
Ph.D., and become a professor of
mental health counseling.
Recent Clayton State University graduate
Tony Yaacoub will be featured on Atlanta
Interfaith Broadcasters’ (AIB) “One World”
program, starting May 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Yaacoub, a native of Beirut, Lebanon, and
a member of the Clayton State Honors
Program, graduated from Clayton State
earlier this month with a B.S. in
Mathematics.
The AIB “One World” program that
debuts tonight, Tuesday, May 22, at 7:30
p. m., and will feature a report on Yaacoub
and his local relationships. The program
will re-air Friday, May 25, at 9 a.m.,
Saturday, May 26 at 5 p.m., and Sunday,
May 27 at 3 p.m. The program will re-air
next week on the same schedule; Tuesday
at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 9 a.m., Saturday at
5 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. AIB “One
World”
will
then
migrate
to
www.aibnet.tv on Sunday and air daily for
two weeks at 4:30 a.m., and 7 p.m. The
program is also slated to appear on AIB’s
Video on Demand site.
AIB-TV appears on Channel 5 on
Comcast; Channel 6 on AT&T U-verse
and Channel 22 on Charter Cable.
Yaacoub is the president (and founder) of
Clayton State’s International Student
Association, a DEEP Peer educator, a
member on the Student Fees Committee,
and a member of the Financial Club. He
was also the University’s Homecoming
King for 2012. He originally came to
Clayton State through the Georgia Rotary
Student Program, and liked the University
so much that he stayed on afterwards to
complete his degree. A Dean’s List stu-
dent and an attendee and presenter at sev-
eral scholarly mathematical conferences
throughout the southeast, Yaacoub has
won the William A. Watt Award and the
Mathematics Outstanding Senior Award
from the College of Information and
Mathematical Sciences at Clayton State.
Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters Inc., is the
nation’s largest regional interfaith televi-
sion network.
Kheirandish selected five top students
with different study concentrations so
their unique perspectives would make the
whole unit stronger. The five College of
Business students major in everything
from supply chain management to
accounting to marketing, and their blend
of talents served them well as they came
up with a campaign to promote the real-
life Tesla Motors, a cutting-edge electric
car company based in California. Their
mock campaign included a PowerPoint
presentation, a video, a new emblem for
the brand, and an advertising campaign
promoting Tesla’s unique selling point:
high-technology design that is also envi-
ronmentally-friendly and safety-focused.
“Tesla makes high-end vehicles, but they
are moving into a more economical mar-
ket,” says Wagner, a senior marketing
major from Conyers and the team captain.
“Where the company once only produced
sleek sports cars, they’ve now come out
with a sedan to attract families. We were
tasked with coming up with ideas to better
their business and help them gain more of a
share of the market. The winning concept
hinged on a message to, `Protect your fam-
ily now. Protect your family in the future.’”
The team’s cohesiveness and industrious
preparation for the competition gave it the
winning edge, adds Wagner, who also par-
ticipated on last year’s winning team.
“Our dynamics were great. We really
worked great together. Everyone had var-
