Consistent with the mission statement of Clayton State University, the
School of Nursing is committed to providing comprehensive nursing education to
residents from a diverse range of ethnic, socioeconomic, experiential, and
geographical backgrounds. The following essential considerations inform and
guide theprogramsoffered by theSchool of Nursing:
increasingly complexglobal context of contemporary life;
promotionof community-based, experiential learning;
continuous education for teaching, scholarship, andgrowth;
promotionof healthandhumandevelopment of theglobal community in
transition;
providinghigh quality educational services for thedevelopment of
competent, caring, and committed professional nurses;

educational technologies;
maintaining standardsof professional nursing practice that recognize
