While VITA is a highly visible and public manifestation of the University’s empowering its students, it is hardly the only such initiative in the College of Business.
Indeed, every business major at Clayton State knows about empowerment, thanks in part to the College of Business’ cap- stone strategy course named capstone business experience. The lead instructor for the course is Professor of Management Dr. Gary May.
“The most empowering learning in- volves hands-on experience and chal- lenge,” says May. “By participating in an interactive team simulation, students actually learn how to run a business – creating and revising product lines, mar- keting their products, managing the pro- duction, performing HR functions, applying total quality management tools, and raising funds in a competitive
