A PART OF HISTORY
A structural beam was placed near the con- struction site and the campus community was invited to leave their mark on history. The signed beam would then be ceremoniously placed during the “Topping Out” ceremony. At right, Clayton State staff, a student, and Mc- Carthy construction workers sign the beam. A beam signing was also part of the Student Ac- tivities Center construction in 2008.
FINISHING TOUCHES
In summer 2015, small groups were allowed to tour the completed building before move-in. At left, McCarthy’s Matt McMullan gives a small group tour in June before official occupancy.
