As one of the nation’s top 10 higher education builders, McCarthy has completed more than 200 higher
education construction projects nationwide and is currently working with Clayton State University to construct
the new Science Building. From bioengineering facilities and nanotechnology centers, to performing arts
centers and multi-use health and athletic facilities, McCarthy is dedicated to providing quality construction
solutions that meet the state-of-the-art needs of today's
universities and has a deep understanding of what it takes
to build safely on a busy campus with minimum disruption
to a community.
As McCarthy’s team and Clayton State collaborated
closely to grow the natural and health sciences offerings in
Georgia, a close relationship flourished and a broader
partnership ensued. McCarthy is now excited to announce
they will be Joining the Clayton State University Corporate
Partners at the Leadership Level for the next two years.
The gifts will support the new Science Building by aiding
important equipment purchases and resources for
students.
“We are honored to partner with Clayton State University and to help bring their dreams of a new science
facility to fruition,” says Kevin Kuntz, McCarthy’s Southeast Division President. “Giving back to the community is
at the heart of our organization, and there is no better way to illustrate this commitment than helping to provide
an education to Clayton State students.”
Beyond its dedication to the community, McCarthy is a fervent believer that the choices made in construction
are not made just for today, but rather meant to leave a legacy for those who create new footprints on this
earth. In this vein, McCarthy continues to set new standards for sustainable construction by implementing the
latest in sustainable building.
The new science building will be Georgia Peach Green Building certified, a designation bestowed upon
buildings owned or managed by the State that optimize energy performance, increase the demand for
materials produced in Georgia, improve the environmental quality, conserve energy, protect Georgia’s natural
resources and reduce the burden on the state’s water supply.
McCarthy recognizes that it is not enough to create a great science facility; it is also important to be
an active participant in the communities we build in. McCarthy is thrilled to be part of the fabric of
Clayton State’s community.
