Clayton State has 5,000 Likes
At least 5,000 people like Clayton State
University.
It’s probably true that more than 5,000
people like the University where dreams
are made real, however, the official
University Relations Facebook page
reached a milestone this week and now
has over 5,000 “likes.”
Naturally, to celebrate the occasion,
University Relations held a contest, ask-
ing followers to leave a comment on how
Clayton State is making or has made their
dreams real, with the best comments win-
ning a prize. The winners were Sundee
McMullin Proctor of Stockbridge, and
Samantha Watson of Locust Grove.
“Clayton State University has provided
the foundation for a degree that will
change the rest of my life, and in turn, my
daughter's,” says Proctor, a Clayton State
student who is majoring in English with
secondary certification with the goal of
teaching middle school English. “(I’m) no
longer a truck driver, I am studying to
teach English, a career that allows me to
be home more than four days per month.
Not only does this career change improve
my family, it provides the opportunity to
impact the lives of hundreds of young
people per year once I graduate.
“The faculty and staff here emulate the
kind of educator I hope to one day be,

It’s a Pillowcase of Dreams Made Real
by John Shiffert, University Relations
Everyone who has had a son or daughter
apply to college knows there is a lot of
competition among the top institutions,
competition to get the best students.
Clayton State University is no different than
any other university in its desire to attract the
best and brightest. And, since Clayton State
is the place where dreams are made real,
Director of Recruitment and Admissions
Betty Momayezi recently came up with a
clever way to reinforce that impression on
potential Clayton State freshmen.
It’s a common practice for colleges to
send admitted students items like flash
drives, or laundry bags, or sunglasses, or
T-shirts. But, think about it… if you’re
emphasizing that Clayton State is dreams
made real, what better way to get that
message across than with… a “Dreams
Made Real” pillowcase?
