named the Peach Belt Astro Turf Player of
the Week in December, after averaging
18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and six blocks
per game in two victories.

The Clayton State men’s and women’s
cross country and track & field teams
combined to perform more than 550 hours
of community service during the recently
completed fall semester. The Laker teams
balanced time between classes, practice,
and in many cases work schedules, to give
back to the local community in a variety
of volunteer opportunities. The volunteer
time that the teams performed ranged
from serving established charitable organ-
izations like Habitat for Humanity and the
Humane Society, to helping out at several
metro Atlanta road races. A few local
schools were also served, especially
Morrow Elementary School where the
Laker cross country and track teams have
been volunteering for the past three years.
The primary volunteering the teams have
done at Morrow Elementary has been
either reading to students, or having stu-
dents read to them to help MES students
improve this critical skill. Team members
also helped volunteered working the
school’s annual Fall Festival and can
drive.

ished with a 10-5 record at the No. 1 seed

No. 1 doubles. An All-Peach Belt
Conference selection last year, Keeling
was one of only seven players to receive
the preseason honor from the conference.
